Dania Saragovia and Alessandra Filesi met at the Rhode Island School of Design as freshmen in 1987, and have been collaborating on projects ever since. Their two sensibilities are different yet complimentary - Dania's first observations of a project may be emotion and color, while Alessandra will typically start by conceiving the spatial possibilities or an exciting construction detail.
Throughout their design work, whether architectural or set-related, permanent or ephemeral, there is the absolutely unique identity of each project as a close collaboration between designer and client. Their long affiliation with specialized artists, craftsmen and designers allows them to create specific elements for a project, from a customized piece of children's furniture to complex ventilation systems. They have a consistent record of finishing projects on time and within budget.
Whether gutting an entire living space or decorating a set, Dania and Alessandra understand the construction elements of a project, and can design from the bones up. Their design work is the singular expression of two ways of thinking.
